When the glass carafe from our plug-in coffee maker broke, I decided not to replace it. The question was, what to use instead? I searched online for pour-over options and the B&T device caught my eye. I was specifically hoping I would find something that would work on mugs of various sizes as well as with the carafe of a beautifully styled French press I picked up at a yard sale years ago. It doesn’t have the press mechanism, but I love its sleek lines and hoped I could put it to use. The B&T dripper looks great perched snugly on top of the carafe, and also has an eye catching profile sitting on top of our assorted cups and mugs. I can now do pour over for two when my husband and I agree on the same coffee, or switch to single servings when we’re each in the mood for something different. The corrugated outer cover of the B&T dripper provides a sure grip, and the stainless steel interior keeps the coffee hot as it makes its journey from the top of the filter down into the awaiting cup. It fits comfortably on all of my brewing vessels, from a funky retro “quilted” jelly jar with a 2.5” opening to the 3.785” French press carafe and a chubby porcelain mug. The drip rate is just right, producing a full bodied brew that’s better than the output from my former plugin drip pot. Never going back to plug-in brewing again!
